Department of Education Instructional Services Branch - The primary function of the Instructional Services Branch is to assess, plan, develop, and evaluate curricula and pedagogy to meet the needs of all K-12 students in attaining the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards (HCPS). It is responsible for the content of all subject areas in the instructional program; for instructional strategies which enable students to optimally meet the standards; and for the inservice training of district and school personnel responsible for the implementation of HCPS.

Interactive Web Usage  

Webquests (click on Top, Middling or New on left hand sidebar) all web quests are prepackaged for immediate use. "Top" and "Middling" categories have already been evaluated by educators
Filamentality - a fill-in-the-blank interactive Web site that guides you through picking a topic, searching the Web, gathering good Internet sites, and turning Web resources into learning activities and then creating web-based learning pages using Hotlist, Scrapbook, Treasure Hunt, Subject Sampler, or WebQuest
TrackStar - helps instructors organize and annotate Web sites (URLs) for use in lessons (the resource list remains visible allowing the user to easily stay on track).  Search archives by keyword, author, or themes and standards.
Poll Everywhere - Poll Everywhere is a simple text message voting application that works well for live audiences. People vote by sending text messages (or using Twitter) to options displayed on-screen. The poll that is embedded within the presentation or web page will update in real time. Advanced uses include texting comments to a presentation, texting questions to a presenter, web voting, and SMS interactivity in print, radio, and TV.
Lexile Levels of reading books - The Lexile Book Database contains more than 100,000 English and Spanish fiction and non-fiction titles from more than 450 publishers. Once you know a student’s Lexile measure, you can search the database for books that fall within his or her Lexile range.

Wordle - a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.
